From a career in care to very best leadership
Career progression is rarely accidental, it takes ambition, commitment and the right support, and Warrens Hall Manager Lavinia Tudora’s rise within the Superior Care group is a great example of how those elements can all come together.
Originally from Romania, Lavinia studied Romanian and English at university, but after the birth of her son and a period away from work she began to reassess her direction and realised her future lay in nursing rather than her original career choice of teaching. “I never practised as a teacher,” she says. “I discovered my passion was caring for people.”
After qualifying, she moved to the UK and secured her NMC registration within six months and instead of pursuing a hospital role, she chose to work in the care home sector, drawn to its close-knit environment and the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with residents and their families.
She began her UK career in Wolverhampton in 2014 and later moved to Smethwick, before transitioning into home care to broaden her clinical experience, supporting individuals with brain and spinal injuries and developing skills that would later underpin her leadership.
In 2020, Lavinia joined Superior Care’s Newbury Manor home as a registered nurse and progressed quickly to Clinical Lead, becoming Deputy Manager in 2023 and stepping into the role of Manager at Warrens Hall in November 2024.
“It was rapid growth, four years from nurse to manager,” she says. “I’m very grateful for the support from senior leadership because that encouragement made all the difference and today I’m able to inspire the next generation of carers, lead my team yet be pivotal in care provision, all while maintaining close relationships with our residents.”
For Lavinia, Superior Care represents more than career opportunity. “It feels like a family,” she explains. “You’re never alone, there is always someone to guide and support you.”
That culture is reflected in her leadership style at Warrens Hall, where she prioritises collaboration, open communication and visible support for her team while maintaining a clear focus on delivering high quality care as the home continues to develop.
Now firmly established in her role, Lavinia remains focused on strengthening her knowledge and continuing to grow as a leader. “There’s always more to learn,” she says. “I’m excited for what’s ahead and I see every day as day to learn and grow both professionally and personally too.”
From language graduate in Romania to care home manager in the UK, her journey reflects one of determination, adaptability and the impact of working in an organisation that actively supports growth, vision and determination to be the best.
