Christmas Cheer and Festive Fun at Warrens Hall

Christmas spirit is well and truly filling every corner of Warrens Hall and the last few weeks have been packed with laughter, creativity and togetherness. From festive activities to exciting plans still to come, it has been a truly special time for our residents, families and staff.

Earlier this month, staff came together to discuss how we could spread even more Christmas cheer throughout the home. From those conversations, a wonderfully creative idea was born. Our very own staff pantomime. We are thrilled to be performing “A Christmas Carole… Sort of” on Christmas Eve, all costumes, props and backdrops have been lovingly made at home using recyclable materials or sourced from charity shops.

A huge amount of thought, time and effort has gone into the show and it is all for one reason, to bring smiles, laughter and festive joy to our residents’ faces. Everyone is welcome and we would love to see you there.

Festive fundraising has also been in full swing thanks to the dedication of our Housekeeping team. For the last seven weeks they have been busy organising raffle prizes to raise money for our wellbeing and activity fund. Thanks to their tremendous efforts and the generosity of everyone who donated prizes or bought tickets, we have raised an incredible £250 so far. The money is already being put to good use with live entertainment booked for our residents. There is still time to take part as the raffle will be drawn on Monday 22 December.

The festive fun has not stopped there. We were delighted to welcome the children from The Orchard School, whose calm and beautiful singing filled the home with Christmas magic. Their visit also came with a touch of chaos and mischief thanks to an uninvited Warrens Grinch, making it a day of two wonderful halves. The children also made gorgeous handmade cards for our residents which were received with big smiles and warm hearts.

Elf Day and Christmas Jumper Day brought even more cheer, laughter and colour to the home. Cheeky, playful, bashful, warm, loving and always caring are not reindeer names but they perfectly describe the smiles seen throughout the week. As always, our residents led the way, choosing whether to join in the fun or enjoy it from a quieter seat.

With Christmas fast approaching, the home has been buzzing with tree decorating, baking and the sound of carols drifting through the halls. Our manager Lavinia shared, “Christmas is all about togetherness and joy, and seeing our residents’ faces light up as we dressed the home was truly special. This is just the start and we cannot wait to bring you more festive updates.”

From all of us at Warrens Hall, thank you for being part of our festive journey. It is beginning to feel a lot like Christmas.
