Stepping back in time at our 1950s Summer Fete

July has certainly brought plenty of sunshine to Warrens Hall, and with the warmer weather came even more opportunities for residents to spend time outdoors, enjoy special events and make lasting memories with family, friends and our local community.

The highlight of the month was undoubtedly our much-anticipated 1950s Summer Fete, which brought a wonderful sense of nostalgia to the home. Residents, relatives, friends and visitors joined us for an afternoon filled with music, laughter and entertainment, creating a fantastic atmosphere from beginning to end.

There was something for everyone to enjoy, with a bustling tombola, raffle, Hook a Duck, children's raffle and refreshments throughout the day, while live entertainment kept spirits high and had many residents singing along to familiar tunes. It was wonderful to see different generations coming together, sharing stories, making new memories and enjoying quality time in the summer sunshine.

We were also delighted to welcome Councillor Maria Crompton to Warren's Hall during the celebrations. It was a pleasure to introduce her to our residents, show her around the home and share the warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes our community so special. We sincerely appreciate her taking the time to support our Summer Fete and spend time getting to know everyone.

A huge thank you goes to everyone who attended, volunteered and helped make the event such a success. The kindness and support shown throughout the day created an occasion that residents will remember for a long time, and it was lovely to see so many familiar and new faces enjoying the festivities together.

The beautiful weather continued throughout the month, giving residents another opportunity to make the most of our outdoor spaces during a relaxing Cheese and Wine Day. Surrounded by sunshine and good company, residents spent the afternoon chatting with friends while enjoying a selection of delicious cheeses and a glass of wine. Sometimes it is the simpler moments that bring the greatest joy, and it was another lovely occasion filled with smiles, laughter and conversation.

Alongside the summer celebrations, we were incredibly proud to recognise several members of our team who successfully completed the Nurse Assistants Course as part of our internal Flourish training programme. Their achievement reflects the dedication, compassion and commitment they bring to their roles every day, as well as their determination to continue developing their knowledge and skills.

Investing in learning and development remains an important part of life at Warrens Hall because it helps our team continue delivering the highest standards of person centred care while growing in confidence and expertise. We would like to congratulate each of our latest Flourish graduates on this fantastic achievement and thank them for the positive difference they make to the lives of our residents every day.

As we look ahead to the rest of the summer, we are excited to continue creating meaningful experiences for those who live with us, whether through larger community events or simple afternoons spent enjoying each other's company in the sunshine. July has been a month full of smiles, celebration and togetherness, and we cannot wait to see what the coming weeks will bring.
